AI Apologetics blog (short form)

This is a short form blog that was assigned as a quick run. The description was for faith at the intersections of AI technology.

“Hello, I’m your faith-based intelligence provider. How can I help you?” An apologetic approach to AI

Why disturb the Apologetics?

The classics of apologetic philosophy lean toward the foundations and confirmation of one’s core faith, belief, and defense of Christian doctrine. Applying these foundational elements to contemporary society is not a new approach. What is new to this discourse is how Rational and Evidential apologetic thinking can be assisted through technological advancements.

The use of technology – for example Artificial Intelligence (AI) – can compress lengthy and often time-consuming data to help one pinpoint literature to secure doctrine. Acquiring this valuable data quickly is no longer a novelty or unrealistic vision. Today’s technology is perfectly suited for providing reasonable and logical scripture and evidential literature as desired.

Discipleship, seriously?

The creation of disciples remains a fundamental principle of Christian faith. The use of apologetic philosophy can help to lead those who are seeking discipleship. Likewise, the apologetics can help those who are just learning the gospel, Christian life and meaning.

The use of AI speaks to a contemporary global-local identity. When those who are beginning their life in faith and belief knowing that there is technology available that can help answer questions and provide resources is comforting. All within immediate contact, such AI technology aids in reducing the historic fear of lengthy years of laborious religious learning.

Where do we go from here?

The fundamentals of a life in faith have not changed. The tools of the 21st century have changed. The interation of both sheds a necessary light on the path we walk to secure our core principles of a life in Christ.
